As a self-proclaimed margarita specialist, I have been touring the Echo Park bars for the strongest and most delicious margaritas our little community has to offer. Hopefully I’ll find my way home after drinking all that tequila and publish my finds later this week!

I have not had a chance to try the AYC margarita pictured above, but through some pretty extensive testing I have come to favor the Cadillac Margarita at El Compadre. Flaming or not they are delicious and STRONG.
i like malo’s margaritas, but i sort of fundamentally hate paying more than 8 dollars for one, cadillac or not.
Barragan’s is by far the best! Especially for $2.50 on Wednesdays when one is on a very tight budget right now. Who cares if they use Jose Cuervo, you can always request a better brand of Tequila!

I agree, $8 and waaay west of Alvarado doesn’t count. I’m all for Barrigan’s very LARGE and VERY TASTY margarita on the rocks WITH SALT at a decent price. And I can walk there…!
For 3 bucks (between 9-10), the short stop has a better margarita.
