It’s that time of year again – the annual pet photos with Santa at the Peter Shire Gallery!

Dog-lovers gather year after year to get photos of them, their pets, and the big bearded for the Echo Park Animal Alliance fundraiser. The prints are $10 each or three for $25, and you can get a bag of home baked dog biscuits for just $10.

In addition to the Pet Photos with Santa, the Peter Shire Gallery is open for you to browse while your pups enjoy doggy Christmas treats!

This all takes place from Saturday, December 3 (12 noon to 6:00 pm) through Sunday, December 4 (12 noon to 5:00 pm). The Peter Shire Gallery is located at 1850 Echo Park Avenue.

Lisa is desperately looking for her lost dog Lola, who escaped on Thanksgiving. Via email, Lisa told us the following about Lola:

PLEASE HELP. I lost my dog “LOLA” on Thanksgiving evening while entertaining guests, someone let the door open and she got out. Maybe scared with all of the cooking rustle and bustle.  I am very upset, i cant sleep or eat. I have done as much as i humanly can for her and i am hoping you can help also. She is snow white. No marks. Smooth coat, pink ears. Female fixed. Around 10 lbs. She had a pink collar with rhinestones on with tags, and microchip information attached. Please let me know if i am sending the appropriate information. Last seen on Echo Park Avenue and Donaldson Street.

Please contact us if you’ve seen Lola, and we’ll make sure Lisa gets her loved one back!

Echo Parkian Amanda found a mother and her kittens in her yard a month ago, and since the only no-kill shelter only takes cats over one-year old, she is searching for a home for them.

“I think the black and white one is a male since he is bigger than the other one; he is very curious and really adorable. The other one is a multicolored kitty who seems like she would be happiest living her life on someones lap. It’s only a matter of time before they start breeding, so the clock is ticking!… They are cute to an insane degree and I wish I could keep them, but I have an elderly cat who despises all non-human creatures.

Please email EchoParkKitties@gmail.com if interested.

The North Central Animal Shelter is having a “Chip-A-Thon” on Sunday, June 26, where you can get your pet chipped for very, very cheap!

Bring your pet from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on Sunday to the shelter and pay just $15 – includes the chipping and the registration (trust me, this is very inexpensive!).

Getting your pet chipped is very important – if they lose their collar or escape from the house, this is the best way to get your loved one home!

The North Central Shelter is located at 3201 Lacy Street.

The Chip-A-Thon is sponsored by Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA), HomeAgain and Avid.

Blue Collar Supplies is hosting a German Shepard adoption event in Echo Park this weekend. Adopting your new furry friend from this event also means that the animal is already spayed/neutered, up-to-date shots and microchipped, so you really can’t lose!

Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 12:00 noon – 3:00 pm

BlueCollar Supplies is located at 1533 Echo Park Avenue

Here are just a few of the dogs available for adoption. If you’re interested, come to the event to meet the one you’re interested in! Visit sheprescue.org to view more photos and fill out an application.

We’re trying to help find this adorable pup in the Echo Park area. Owner Meghan emailed us with the following information:

On Tuesday May 3, 2011 my poor little schnauzer/poodle mix named Selby got out from a yard on Laguna Ave and Echo Park Ave. Her name is Selby and she was wearing a pink collar with tags. She is grey/tan/white, weighs about 20 lbs and and has a microchip. I am offering a $500 reward to anyone who finds her. I am utterly heartbroken over my lost little dog.

Email us at info@echoparknow.com if you have any information!

This ridiculously cute pup was saved from the animal shelter that was planning to euthanize her a couple of weeks ago. She made it to a foster home, but needs to find another foster or (preferably) a permanent home. Here are the details about this cutie pie:

She’s smart and very energetic. She has learned how to sit, stay, lay down, and release (which is great at feeding time.) She also knows how to fetch and ‘drop.’ She’s around a year old and needs to go out for lots of potties so having a big yard and another dog to play with is a plus. She loves long walks, runs and hiking at Runyan Canyon. We’d love to meet you to see if you’re a good fit for this sweet, affectionate puppy. Please contact Gina at 323-514-7282 or gkowerko@gmail.com.

Please help find him a home!

Our neighbor just down the street lost their doggy over the weekend the moment they brought him home after adoption:

We lost one of our dogs to old age a couple weeks ago.

Adopted a new one from the pound, brought him home, before we even got into the house he slipped out of his harness, got under the fence and ran away. I live at Scott and Portia.

Dog has no collar is about 20lbs, brownish red short hair, cross between beagle and labador. Has white and blue bandages on his back feet.

We are worried sick, has microchip.

You can call the number on the flyers (pictured about) or send us an email at info@echoparknow.com and we’ll get you connected if you find the pup.
